I put up a more recent profile photo, but I wanted to keep this one somewhere on the blog for posterity. I've always been fond of it.
Cedra was about twelve hours old, and I just look so darned proud of myself.

It`s always amazed me how in shape you look in that photo.
In my similar postpartum-with-baby photos, my arms look like enormous boiled hams, and my face looks like my ass. (And my ass, not visible in the photos, looks like Rhode Island.)

You look great here. I continued to look 9 months pregnant (ok maybe 8 1/2) for the next week.
I've always loved this photo because Sabra looks slightly stoned, a little unimpressed, and really cool. Like a tiny, female Lou Reed. Like she don't give a fuuuuuuck. It's awesome.
i didn't look that good twelve hours later. i think i was still in a stupor.
yea and i was a big pregnant woman. big.

Aw shucks, guys. When I look at myself in this photo all I see is my nasty, still-unwashed post-labor hair.
As for Sabra's laid back look, they found out a few hours after this photo, as she turned increasingly orange, that she had jaundice. She spent the next 8 days in the hospital basking under sunlights. You better believe she looked relaxed then. I, meanwhile, was pumping breast milk to practically force-feed her every two hours while we tried to get her cell count down. No way would I post a photo of how I looked at the end of those 8 days.
